Fall is Here

We have had a couple of very busy weeks. I have had 2 baby showers in a row on Saturdays, and we had the ward trunk or treat. All events were fun, but I'm exhausted.

At the baby showers, I got lots of fun, pink and girly stuff. John is getting used to the idea of being surrounded by estrogen. I told him he just needs to talk to dad or Rusty about it. They could give great advise. I'm also floored by the generosity of my friends. I love them all so much and I think this is really the first place since CG that I have ever really felt at home. I just have a great support group here.

The Trunk or Treat was fun, but a ton of work. Our new leader is super creative and did a great job with all the details of the event. I was in charge of the cake walk and competition this year, surprise. John did the Hay Ride again. The picture is of him and his Uncle Lloyd. I think they had more fun doing it then the kids did riding it. Those crazy boys and their toys!

The last picture is of me and scooby. Less than 3 weeks to go! I just hope she doesn't come too soon, I'm not ready and neither is her room.

Mom and Dad

This past weekend, my mom and dad came to visit. We had so much fun even though it was mostly just hanging out at my house. Friday night they got in and I took them on a brief tour of our town. Then we went to watch John bowl for a little bit. This must have inspired dad because the next night he and John went after the priesthood session. It was fun watching conference on our computer all huddled into what is now our office/storage room. Sunday was a veg. day. I took 2 days off of work so I could spend time with them, but ended up doing a lot of running around for the dinner I put on for the relief society. Mom was a huge help both physically and mentally. Thank you mom! Dad and John ended up going bowling again on Tuesday night.
The original plan was for them to leave on Wednesday morning, but instead they decided to stay one more day and go up to Omaha, Nebraska to see the Winter Quarters Museum. They didn't get back until 11:30 last night and are planning on leaving today. Those crazy retired people, what are we going to do with them? It was just really nice to have them here and to get some one on one time with them. Hopefully they can come back soon.

Ward Campout

I had a rough weekend. We had our ward camp out on Friday. As part of the activities committee I had to be there, though I wasn't the only pregnant one, or the furthest along! It turned out to be a lot of fun. John and I made kabobs on the fire and baked potatoes. They were so yummy. Then after the devotional a few of us just sat around and talked. The sleeping arrangements were kind of rough though. We were on the ground with very little padding. Needless to say I was sore in the morning. Than there was breakfast. The bishopric was in charge, and I love them and their efforts, but they are by no means dad or Rod when it comes to preparedness and organization. I was kind of through into the mess and ended up tripping on a piece of wood and going down face first. Scooby is fine and wasn't harmed at all, but I have the battle scare to prove that I fulfilled my calling for the day! Other than that, it was all really fun, though I don't really recommend it for pregnant women who aren't used to roughing it.
